Need a brand new strength for a brand new week

It's another Monday, a brand new start of a week.

Hubby has gone to work after breakfast...

Did my devotion of the day - Beauty (is shined through by the beauty of the inner spirit man), put in the piled up laundry for wash as hubby told me that he is running out of socks before he left the house... done washing the dishes and cleaned up the table... Yet, I notice that my brain is still snoring at this moment even when I am typing.

We have been sleeping late for the past three nights.

Friday night - Went Church for special meeting and went to Tesco straight at about 10pm to get the ingredients needed for the baking. (p/s: one of my friends requested two cheesecake for her parents to taste on her wedding ceremony day itself.  She told me on the Thursday evening and I got to get things done and bring over on the Sunday morning, which I don't have time to go out on the night itself.)  We spent almost a 1.5 hours in Tesco.  After unpacking things and stuffs, it was already late.

Saturday - morning we both worked.  Back home and lunch at about 3pm.  I though I could get things started right away but there were few ingredients needed but was left out.  Hubby offered to help me run around in getting things without even complaining a single word.  Praise God for such a lovely sweet hubby who's always there to help and support me in all things.  Ding Dong here and there and I started my baking late.  And, having the spirit of rushing things did not help in the baking at all.  I was lack of patient.  And both cakes did not turn out well.  All the ingredients were sort of wasted. In the end of the day, we had TV dinner and also end up sleeping late.

Sunday - I have to wake up at 6am in order to pick up another friend and reach the wedding ceremony destination by 7.30am.  Hubby insisting of waking up with me as a return favor of me waking up and making breakfast for him everyday.  Both were tired and kinda exhausted but as there were tasks in mind it keeps our mind occupied from thinking of sleep.  Surely, we prayed and asked God for His strength to go through and need not have to ask.. He always answer prayers. ^^

So I went on the girl's program and hubby went to Church.  After lunch bla bla, we were thinking of taking a short nap.  However, the night's event keep our minds awake.  We end up watching TV instead of resting.  And we were teasing each other about wanting to take a rest yet, turn the TV on and keep our minds busy. Sigh, it's really quite sinful to watch TV programs non stop like there's no tomorrow.  If only we were this determined when we are reading bible.  (Lord, please forgive us...)

As time goes by, we went to the wedding dinner at the restaurant near our place and helped out.  It was quite a busy night for me to run in and out making sure things are alright... every one got a seat... none of the seat are wasted... guests don't sit on the wrong table... etc.

Lastly, we came back late.  The dish came out slightly late... and we were grabbed by the 'brother' group.  They wanted to take revenge for what they were asked to eat in the morning.  Obviously these guys were drunk.  Or to say quite badly drunk.  Thus, I don't blame them.  So it was quite a difficult situation that we wanted to leave but the 'badly drunk' guy keep forcing me and hubby to drink and we were also thinking of what's the right word to say and how to 'leave in peace'...  The moment me and hubby got in the car, we were praising God that we were finally out of the place safely. LOL... what an eventful night we had!!!

That's all the happening of our weekend and again both of us feels like there's never enough of weekend for us to rest.  But God knows, He granted us the time to rest.  But we used it for other purposes instead of either reading His words, doing devotion or just having quality time together.  TV seems to be so addictive to us and I always have so much to do on the Internet.  Both were not bad mediums, just that it was not used for the right reason and timing.  So it comes back to us, whom do not know how to manage our time properly but asking God for more hours in a day and more days in the weekend.  I guess we will still complain and being sleepy every morning if we have more time in a day/week.
In conclusion, it's our time management and self-discipline issue.  So, we shall make a change in this... It sure will be hard, but when God comes and interfere.. it gets easy!! Praise God for He is powerful and mighty!  So here we come a brand new week.. for us to have a brand new start by the strength of God!!!

p/s: 'Brothers' - are called Heng Dai (in Cantonese) that simple means a group of best male friends who will accompany the Groom to 'pick-up' the BrideIt is also called the Entourage Team.  In Chinese culture, the entourage team will come with the Groom to the Bride's house.  Before the Sisters (same meaning as Brothers but applies only to Female friends) could open the door and let them in, some games and punishments (as preference) will be done.  Purpose serves as reminding the husband to treasure the wife in their marriage as he has went through trials before she agrees (again) to marry him.
